Ever since joining Osaka Blower in 1994, I have spent my career engaged in manufacturing on the front lines of design. When I first joined, I was surrounded by senior colleagues much older than me, and I had to find my way day by day.

As time passed, I also became involved in a prototype blower for SOFC applications, but things didn't go well at the time. I redrew drawings through the night, investigated the causes whenever something failed, and rebuilt it. I went through days like that, one after another. I still vividly remember rushing to the site when a blower built into a fuel cell system at the 2005 World Expo in Aichi, Japan, stopped working, and getting through it with the cooperation of the entire company.

The superiors I had at the time never simply scolded us young employees for our failures; they kept telling us, “It's fine as long as you learn and grow from it.” Even in an era when the business was by no means easy, they still chose to develop people—and now that I am in this position myself, I am reminded once again of how broad-minded they were.

I believe Osaka Blower's strength lies in continuing to take on challenges without running away, and in helping one another across the boundaries between design and the shop floor. Everyone pools their knowledge to get a single machine running. The accumulation of that effort has built our 100-year history.

First, I want to realize the next step that was envisioned under the previous president. I want to bring our technology overseas as well, and I want more people to know that this work is not simply about “making things,” but about creating real value for society. And above all, what matters most to me now is creating an environment in which each and every person who supports this company can develop the next generation with peace of mind.

Keeping the world moving, from behind the scenes. Valuing this approach cultivated by those who came before us, Osaka Blower will keep moving forward.
